Design Philosophy

To my (current) younger self: Do not delude yourself, having a community of people to have your back is vital. Without it, your vision will stay as an inconceivable hallucination.

Yet, when all else fails, it takes personal will and courage to move forwards a plan. A “true” designer, entrepreneur, creator and visionary will figure out a way to  innovate when jumping off a cliff with nothing but a broken parachute to land. But, in order to make a change, the design must recognize those affected by any new innovation, idea or technology that wishes to change an entire ecosystem of people, animals, and politics. Delicate is this balance of something new. A creator must never stop learning. A craft can be perfected up to a point. We cannot fear the introduction of “other”. “Other” being new thoughts, new experiences and the incorporation of old ideas merging into something previously not done. Philosophies will always change, ethics questioned under scrutiny. But in order to “think” one must be willing to reach out to a den of wolves, and test both new and old thoughts, regardless of their acceptability. Only then, perhaps we can show the world another way of being.

Thus one must be a bit of a walkingcontradiction, unwilling to see the world through a lens of gray- but rather enjoys the curiosity and tension of getting up close and personal. Inspecting the edges of a world hosting thousands upon thousands of lenses, all colored and tinted made of glass, stone, and fire.

Question everything. Never stop questioning the world around you, my love.
